Workflow for volume calculation for complex objects

Post by IngSayyad »

I just want to ask you guys the recommended workflow for volume of object calculation.
1- Scan
2- Water tight mesh of scans (GeoMagic, Meshlab, etc.)
3- Volume calculation
It works for educational purposes but, it is too costly for big projects. The customers need only volume and not 3D IST-Model of an object.

Faro Scene (5.3) has possibility to get volume easily but it is just for single plane. For complete and complex object, it will not work to click 1000 different planes and got volume.

Is there any other way without 3D Model.
