RiSCAN PRO 1.6.3 release

Post by joe.3dlm »

Version 1.6.3
Released 2011-09-26

Riegl have release v1.6.3 of RiScan Pro, with some interesting new features. There are a couple of new filtering algorithms, for automatic removal of vegetation and mining equipment, which work very nicely.
Also added is support for exports of point clouds, meshes and strings to Datamine and Surpac.

A couple of long-awaited features have returned - the filter "remove isolated points" can be used of VZ- scans, and the option to create a "scan sequence" is now available.

The new version can be downloaded from the Member's Area of www.riegl.com, for all users with an up to date maintenance agreement.

Other features:

Polydata import: Import amplitude values from an ASCII file in dB.
Surface comparison: more color bars added.
Added adjustable Pressure units (mbar, mmHg, inHg) and Temperature units (°C, °F, K).
Added adjustable reference coordinate system for viewtype "Falsecolor - height".
Scan data cleanup function added (to definitely remove deleted points).
Added feature "Terrain filter" for automatic terrain point classification.
Export of point clouds and meshes in Datamine file format (*.dm) added (requires Datamine Software to be installed).
Export of polylines and sections in Surpac file format (*.str) added.
Note: Datamine and Surpac format exports are still under development.

Changes:

Export of colored VZ-Scan: if option "Prune invalid points" is activated, points without color information are not exported now.

Bugfixes:

Point cloud ASCII export: point index ("ID") was not written correctly - solved.
Panorama images were not created correctly when images have been acquired across the 0/360 deg margin of the phi angle (scanner's head rotation).
Export of camera calibration to .cam file did not work - solved.
Delete multiple point objects in project manager.

Cheers,
Joe
