We are working on a case involving a warehouse that was occupied as residences by a number of artists in which a fire got started causing multiple fatalities. The client is interested in two courtroom models: one that depict the structure before the fire and another showing the post-fire condition. We've got high resolution scan data of the ruins so that 3D printing would seem to be the way to go for the latter model. The pre-fire condition sounds like it would require an architectural model builder.
I'd be interested in any thoughts or references to resources that we could work with or commission with regard to this task.

Re: Recommendations for Building Forensic Model
In cases like this you can use the post fire damage property as a start point to generate a 3D model. It could be done in such a way that the digital and printed model can be colour coded to clearly show where "non physically measured" data has been generated. It would need to be produced with appropriate caveats for clarity. Additionally, any other source material such as pre damage images can be used.

Re: Recommendations for Building Forensic Model
If you may have any post fire Architectural drawings( digital or paper) include floor plan, elevations and sections, Then building the 3D model would be possible.
I recommend using Revit, I can assist you in modeling if you wish.

Thanks so much for the responses.
We're in the process of finding out what blueprints and other references may be available. I'll be sharing more info and seeking advice here shortly.
This is the single best collection of talent and intellect in this field that I'm aware of.
