Scanning an airplane OML for CFD analysis

Aircraft OML Reverse Engineering Enables Complex CFD Analysis

Please see this new story in our latest newsletter featuring the amazing Surphaser scanner for capturing the Outside Mold Line (OML) of a large jet aircraft. The purpose for the scanning was to create a highly accurate 3D CAD model for CFD (computational fluid dynamics) analysis of potential design modifications to the air flow surfaces. We also performed the 'reverse engineering' modeling to create the high accuracy 3D CAD models.
