Have any of you done layout with the QML800? I'd love to hear some pro's and con's about tying into targets and the layout itself.

I haven't personally worked with the QML800, but have worked with subcontractors that have.
The problem with the QL800 is you need two lines of site to his a point and need someone to constantly update cad files to match change orders.
So theirs sits in the office collecting dust.
I had a chat with a sales rep who tried to sell it too us about a year ago and he admitted off the record that it was a dud and they were not pushing sales of the units anymore at least in our district.
